With no schools near his mountain home, Gohan travels to Satan City, named after the person that the world thinks was responsible for defeating Cell, to attend formal school for the first time. Gohan may have traveled across the universe and saved the Earth, but there is one great challenge he hasn't yet faced: high school. Young Gohan has been studying hard with his mother at home and now is a teenager. Since the Cell Games, several years have passed on Earth. His troubles aren't over though, because Videl is still trying to find out who the new super-powered person in town is, and another classmate may have found out his secret identity. This panicked Cell, so he turned himself into a bomb, thereby forcing Goku to transport him to King Kai’s planet, where Goku was sacrificed.The third volume of the Great Saiyaman story has Gohan finally getting his super-hero costume and starting to help the citizens of Satan City. Instead, he hit Cell so hard that he regurgitated Android 18, turning Cell back into Semi-Perfect Cell. Unfortunately, he toyed with the biological android – a side effect of the new form – opting not to kill him when he had the chance. Using this newfound power, he was able to defeat Perfect Cell. Gohan’s Super Saiyan form was important as, at the time, he was more powerful than Goku. When in his Super Saiyan 2 form, Gohan is surrounded by blue electricity in addition to the effects of the base Super Saiyan form. ![]() ![]() The death of Android 16 and seeing his friends defeated triggered Gohan’s emotions, allowing him to fully embrace the power he had received after training with his father in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. ![]() He was only able to reach the form when Cell antagonized him by sending the Cell Juniors to kill the Z Fighters, and by killing Android 16. Gohan was the first Saiyan in the anime to achieve the Super Saiyan 2 form, and he first reached it in the Cell Games Saga of Dragon Ball Z.
